Mummy and Daddy had a Mini-break

Can we rewind back to the end of last week......NO! Oh ok......Ha,ha,ha...... Well it was amazing anyway. Last Thursday we dropped the girls off to Breakfast club at School and Nursery and they we're to be collected by Nannie and Grandad and stay there overnight.

We packed up the car and off we headed for our 2 days and night away, little mini break that had been gifted to us for Christmas last year. We headed for our day out checking out the sites in Straford Upon Avon visting the many historic buildings and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, walking alongside the River Avon and finding a lovely little Cafe for a bite to eat. We checked out the many places linked to Shakespeare himself but we did not go in, this is something we wish to do with the girls later in the year. We had a fantastic time and even the work didn’t quite end we headed for a flying visit to Stratford racecourse. The joys of having a Horse racing fans YouTube channel and social media accounts….

The main part of our gift was yet to come and it was so worth the wait…..we headed out of main town Stratford into the country to a lovely hotel called Ettington Park, and wow even on entry up the drive way it did not disappoint. Set in the verdant valley with the River Stour meandering through its on 40 acres of Parkland and is the only AA 4 Red Star hotel situated in Stratford Upon Avon. From the outside you can just see its Grandeur which at first sight can be a little overwhelming, but just wait till you get inside……Just WOW………there’s no other words to describe it. It’s as amazing on the inside as it is on the outside….

We we’re given a lovely warm welcome by the reception staff and the conceige and booked in ready to head to our room, the whole hotel seeps historic tradition with lots of paintings and fantastic decor. Our room did not disappoint, so neat and tidy, amazing view and welcome chocolates and the hotels resident Deer teddy Ettie, just everything we could want for a comfortable nights stay. Whilst we we’re there I did attempt a room tour, so if you’d like to see that it is in my highlights on my Instagram which you can find at its not perfect and I’m definitely no travel vlogger but I did try.

We unpacked our luggage and decided to head to check out the leisure facilities not something we normally get to do on our own so it was a novelty. We we’re again asked by the lovely reception/conceige if there was anything they could do for us, and shown where we needed to go to find the leisure facilities. Swimming, Sauna, Steam room, Spa pool all surrounded by amazing views. Was lovely to relax and not have to worry about things for a while. And for the majority of the hour or so we spent in there we had the place to ourselves which was lovely. But before we knew it was time to head back to our room to change for Dinner.

Our meal was amazing and did not disappointment, just wow food complements of the Chef before we even got to our starter…..We’d pre-ordered before being taken to our table which was fantastic, and other than the complimentary element I managed to take pics of all our food, which was delicious and it was safe to say we left nothing…..The staff we’re amazing and so attentive but not bullish like you can get in some places. They could not do enough to help us, which was the same the next morning with breakfast which I forgot to take photos of but our full English breakfast was to die for and filled us up for the day after the continental element of a few pastries as well and juice and hot drinks on tap so to speak.

An amazing 3 course meal, breakfast and a great nights sleep we we’re set up for Fridays adventure, we decided to head into Warwick for the day, so check out, pack the car and off we went. Warwick is a historic place too which was great we walked through the streets and visited some local shops, we checked out the sites and walked by the famous Warwick Castle but we decided not to head in this trip, its somewhere we want to head back to with the girls and have a full day out. We also went to the Lord Leycester Hospital and looked in the gardens and the outside of the hospital, but again its somewhere we’d like to head back to with our girls and visit so we didn’t go inside. Again no visit is complete without a racecourse visit, this time before heading back towards home we headed into Warwick racecourse which is open daily to the public and you can walk the whole course. We however did not walk all the course but had a good look round and can’t wait to head back. Do head over to my YouTube Channel Mama to Moomin and Bear to check out the video as we vlogged as much as possible whilst having some us time.

Wow I didn’t intend on this post being so long I really hope you stick with me and the pics should break it all up. If your ever looking for a country hotel stay and like a bit of a luxury treat do head to Ettington Park you will not regret it I promise. For more info do head to https://
